LAUNCH POINT

Launch Point is an alt-rock band based in Fort Collins, CO. I led the UX, branding, and merchandise design to help them develop a cohesive visual identity that matched their evolving sound and cinematic inspirations. The goal was to create an immersive and memorable fan experience, both digitally and physically.

THE APPROACH

DISCOVERY & RESEARCH:

I began by immersing myself in the band’s music, lyrics, and goals for growth. I interviewed the band members to understand their influences, message, and audience. A key insight was their desire to stand out with a futuristic, emotional aesthetic — blending stadium-scale sound with philosophical undertones.

INSPIRATION SOURCES:
  • The Creator — for its gritty, humanistic sci-fi aesthetic

  • Blade Runner — for its neon-drenched, urban melancholy

  • Tomorrowland — for its sense of hopeful futurism

 

This mood helped define not just a style, but an emotion: "future nostalgia."

THE RESULT

This project taught me how to turn abstract emotion into consistent design, and how to use UX thinking even in the context of a band. I also learned how to collaborate closely with creatives while honoring the artistic integrity of a musical identity.

  • Fan engagement increased across Instagram and TikTok by 34% after the rebrand

  • Merch sold out at the first live show post-launch

  • Feedback from fans highlighted the “cinematic feel” and “cohesive identity”

  • Helped position Launch Point as not just a band, but a multimedia experience
