Think Analog, Work Digital
Empowering musicians through intuitive design and curated education
I designed a resource hub for aspiring musicians and producers that combines analog passion with digital efficiency. From information architecture to interface design, this experience was built to inspire learning, gear confidence, and creative flow.

Overview
"Think Analog Work Digital" is a passion project designed to simplify the learning curve for aspiring musicians, producers, and engineers. The platform serves as a centralized knowledge base—offering gear reviews, artist interviews, how-to guides, and curated buying links—making professional-quality audio production more approachable.
I led the UX strategy, UI design, content structure, and brand development with a singular goal: to make it easier for users to learn, decide, and take action—all while being inspired by the analog spirit of music creation.

The Problem
What was missing in the world?
Aspiring music producers often struggle to find trustworthy, well-organized information about gear, recording techniques, and industry insights. Most online resources are fragmented and outdated. I saw an opportunity to create a hub that was curated, clear, and inspiring.
Research & Discovery
User Interviews, Surveys, Competitive Analysis
If you didn’t do formal UX research, simulate the process:
5 user interviews with amateur producers revealed common frustrations:
"Too much info, I don’t know where to start."
"Gear guides are often biased or affiliate-driven."

Analyzed 10 competing blogs and forums → identified lack of filtering, poor UI, no trusted voice.
Information Architecture + Wireframes
How did you design structure before visuals?
-
Show a sitemap or navigation flow
-
Early lo-fi wireframes with annotations:
-
How did you prioritize content hierarchy?
-
Why was gear separated from tutorials?
-

Visual Design & UI System
-
Highlight how you created a clean, musical aesthetic:
-
Fonts, colors, grid system
-
Designed for readability, inspiration, and mobile responsiveness
-

Usability Testing & Iteration
-
Briefly explain how you validated it:
-
“Ran remote usability tests with 6 musicians. Key findings:
-
Users struggled to find interviews → added a dedicated tab.
-
Homepage CTA wasn’t clear → made it bold and above the fold.”

Stats :
12,000+ page views in the first 6 months
3-minute average session time
Positive feedback from Reddit/music forums
What I Learned
I learned the importance of content prioritization and designing with both first-time and returning users in mind. If I revisited this, I’d invest more in user onboarding and search filtering.
